CMT2017: abstract submission and registration is now open!

We are glad to announce that the 9th International Congress on Coastal and Marine Tourism (CMT) June 13-16 2017 in Gothenburg, Sweden, is now open for abstract submission and registration. Furthermore, there is also new information about keynotes attending CMT2017 and descriptions of the congress tours.

The European Maritime Spatial Planning Platform is an on-going service for MSP authorities and stakeholders throughout all European Member States to share relevant knowledge and experiences on MSP. Financed by the European Union under the European Maritime and Fisheries Fund, the website is the entrance to a comprehensive service point for MSP in Europe, showing an overview of MSP practices and projects generated from all European Member States.

We encourage you to explore the European MSP Platform website. Here you will find many useful resources for learning about MSP experiences across the EU.

MSP Challenge - Website Announcement

Dear MSPRN Coordinators,

we are pleased to announce the launch of the Maritime Spatial Planning Challenge website, available at the link www.mspchallenge.org.

The Maritime Spatial Planning Challenge is an interactive multiplayer serious game that gives maritime spatial planners insight in the diverse challenges of sustainable planning of human activities in the marine and coastal ecosystem.

International Congress on Coastal and Marine Tourism 2017

CMT 2017 logoThe CMT is widely considered the world's foremost conference related to tourism and recreation in coastal and marine environments and is attended by academics, students and practitioners from around the world. The congresses offer opportunities for the presentation and publication of refereed and working papers, as well as posters. A strong feature of the congresses is the supportive and collegial atmosphere where students are particularly encouraged to engage and contribute to the field.

We are proud to welcome you to the 9th International Congress on Coastal and Marine Tourism (CMT) in 2017 in the city of Gothenburg, Sweden. We hereby invite researchers, educators, government employees, industry practitioners, students and representatives of interest organizations to submit research papers and/or posters for the CMT2017. YOUMARES conference

YOUMARES is an international science conference targeted at young scientists from Bachelors to Postdocs addressing a wide range of marine research topics.

We are chairing Session 5 this year which addresses Tools and Methods supporting an Ecosystem Based Approach to Marine Spatial Management.

We would very much be interested in hearing about analytical approaches to assess effects of human uses and spatial management tools such as Marine Spatial Planning to support an ecosystem based approach to marine management.

The Transboundary Planning in the European Atlantic (TPEA) project would like to extend an open invitation to participate at its Project Showcase.

The showcase event follows the closing session of the European Maritime Day at Bremen, Germany, on Tuesday 20th May 2014. Please join us from 15:15 in the Focke-Wulf Saal (located in the European Maritime Day venue) to hear of the work undertaken by the TPEA project, which will be followed by a food and drinks reception.

Areas in the East and South China Seas and the Black Sea are heavily contested by various nation states, while the Arctic, with its proven oil reserves, is another obvious realm of contestation, with adjacent countries vying to stake their respective claims and environmental movements trying hard to restrict the anticipated damage.
